Summer seems to be filled with weddings, anniversaries and other celebrations. In my family, we have several anniversaries in August. Just the other day, I saw a beautiful wedding being held at the beach at sunset. Living in Southern California, we have sunny days most of the year but there is something special about summer. Since we have so many anniversaries in the summer we are always trying to find a special and unique gift. This is one reason we were so happy to carry our beautiful wooden sculptures from Indonesia. These fair trade products are all hand-carved with exquisite detail and will be treasured by anyone who receives them as a gift.
My favorite item is a double heart sculpture called “Love Blossoms.” The perfect representation of love, whether it is the joining of two people in marriage or perhaps celebrating a new addition to the family, this sculpture captures the joy beautifully. Hand carved from Indonesia and made out of beautiful Suar wood.

When we first decided to start an online business we knew that we needed to have exceptional photos to highlight our products and catch the eye of prospective customers. With this idea in mind, we tried several different styles and locations to create the perfect photos. We experimented with lighting and various settings and backgrounds. Some of the most fun we have had during this process is when we really started to think creatively and out of the box.
Recently we were at an event that featured an antique and specialty car show. The cars were amazing and we happened to have our booth right across the road from a very cool DeLorean. We decided that it would provide the perfect backdrop for our Satellite Mova Globe. The owner of this car was so kind and loved the idea of letting us take a photo. He even got down on the ground and took the photo for us so that the angle was just right! The combination of the stainless steel modern image of the DeLorean with the globe that featured a natural satellite view of the earth was incredible! This has become one of our favorite photos.
We are excited to try new ideas and share with you fun and creative photos of our beautiful products. Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram and Twitter to see the photos as soon as we post them!
There is something really magical about bright colors put together in intricate patterns and designs. The Hmong people of Thailand are known for their embroidery skills and their flair with patterns and colors. This bag, hand-crafted in Thailand, is an amazing example of traditional Hmong design with a modern twist. This bag is meant to be noticed; with its bright colors, fun patterns and leather fringe. This beautiful bag is also available in a stunning black and white pattern.
Here is a little bit about our artisans: Drawing upon the master craft-making techniques that have been a part of their culture for generations, our artisans skillfully handcraft these beautiful pieces individually, combining contemporary designs with ancient traditions. In Thailand, we work with about 25 artisans, mostly of Hmong heritage located outside Chiang Mai, Thailand. This village industry provides families an opportunity to maintain the tradition of handcrafting while sharing an expression of their indigenous culture with the world. By respecting cultural tradition, creating a cooperative working atmosphere, and paying sustainable wages, these women and their families have become empowered with new skills and have an opportunity for economic stability.
