    Disappearing Pens

    No comments yet

Where do all the pens go?  I believe this is one of life’s greatest mysteries.  Just a little over a month ago I bought another pack of 24 pens.  Only two weeks later I only had two pens leftover or, at least, that I could find.  Do little gremlins take them?  Am I just putting them in the trash or laundry or sink and not realizing it?  I understand this seems a bit weird ranting about missing pens in a blog, but it is more than that.  I bring this up because I am not alone in this struggle.  I kept thinking there must be better places to store most, if not all, of my pens and other little knickknacks.  Luckily there is hope.

Earlier this month I tried one of our beautiful Fair Trade Hmong Wallets.  These wallets are embroidered in traditional Hmong designs and are available in various colors.  They are perfect for storing anything your heart desires, pens, of course, included.  You will never have to worry about losing your pens again.

    Experiencing the World

While my son was in college he spent half a year abroad in Hong Kong.  He studied the history, diplomatic relations, and art of all of East Asia.  At the end of his stay he was fortunate enough to be able to further travel inland into Southern China and eventually Southeast Asia.  It was here that he learned a tremendous amount about the world and was able to fully experience other cultures.  Upon his return he wanted only two things in life: to be able to continue to travel, and to learn more about art abroad.  I, of course, try to support him in continuing to strive for these goals.  Though he hasn’t been able to travel again yet, LifeHeartHome.com has broadened its inventory to accomplish his dream of being more fully emerged in art and handcrafted treasures from abroad.  We will continue to search for items that awaken the love of art, culture, and travel in all of our customers.

    Winter Weather Blues

    No comments yet

This year it has seemed relentless how the East Coast and Midwest have been experiencing horrible storms and severe winter chill one after the other, while the Southwest continues to undergo a drought of epic proportions.  For those of us on the West Coast this plight is made slightly more bearable by the beach and ability to still go out.  For those of us on the East Coast traveling outside is a little bit more of an ordeal.  However, I have found that our hand woven silk scarves have kept me warm and feeling stylish in any weather.  It is a perfect gift for someone braving the harsh winter in the East or simply hoping to add a little style to their ensemble in the West.

    Green is in the Air

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, and for many Irish and non-Irish alike, the holiday is a time to celebrate and show off your green apparel and jewelry.  My mother, an Irishwoman with unparalleled pride in her culture, is often the first to wear the ceremonial green and pinch anyone who dares not.  If you are someone who struggles finding something green in your wardrobe, like myself, I would recommend looking into our Foliage colored Fair Trade Capullo Bracelet and Foliage colored Luzy Beaded Necklace.  They are green, and therefore work for the holiday, but also they match many other colored clothes due to the addition of earth tones of gold and brown.  If you want to get something green for St. Patrick’s day that does not only come out of your wardrobe once a year, these are the gifts to get.  Wearing the Foliage colored Capullo Bracelet with the Luzy Beaded Necklace easily match and are appropriate for the entire year.

    Whisper of Kindness Cards

    No comments yet

whisperofkindness1There is so much change and excitement going on in the world it is often hard to slow down and appreciate the people around you.  Even the person taking your order, for instance, can often be the person who makes you smile and appreciate the day.  Just two days ago I went into a teashop to get my favorite drink, boba milk tea.  Some may also have heard it referred to as tapioca or bubble milk tea.  It was here that after I tipped the barista, she gave me a size larger and told me that she was extremely appreciative for the tip.  This, in turn, made my day.
These little interactions often have a more profound impact on your life and others than one might think.  I am a firm believer in letting your appreciation of others be heard. That is why we sell Whisper of Kindness cards, which are a perfect way to let someone you know or even a complete stranger know how much you appreciate them.  There is no such thing as showing too much appreciation for someone who has brightened your day.  Remember even a whisper can turn someone’s day around.
